"Annie," a mixed-breed puppy, seems to be so terrified that she continually hides under her humans' bed. Upon connecting empathetically with Annie, I gather impressions of her story before she arrived at her present safe and loving home. Like a movie unfolding, I "see" Annie's mother being abused by her owner, a man, while she was pregnant with Annie's litter. Annie witnessed a litter mate being abused by this man, and in her terror, she fled through an open door and across the street, almost being hit by traffic, running for her life until she was found by a caring person. Her human, Gale, then confirmed to me that Annie is terrified of men and traffic noises, and bolts through open doors as if her life depends on it. With the help of a flower essence formula created for Annie, along with a homeopathic remedy and behavior modification techniques recommended by Annie's holistic veterinarian, Annie is gaining trust and confidence in her family and in life.
"T-Rex," an African Grey parrot, lives in a house where strangers frequently visit. T-Rex's human, Linda, asks me if it would help T-Rex to feel more secure if his cage were moved across the room. "Kelly," an older female cat, has been urinating outside of the litter box when her human, Jan, is out of the house. Upon connecting with Kelly, she tells me that she gets upset when her beloved human is away at strange, inconsistent times, and does not keep to a regular schedule in feeding Kelly and cleaning the litter box. Jan confirmed to me that her work schedule is indeed chaotic and irregular. Jan now knows how to work with Kelly and understands her behaviors.
"Frannie" is an elderly Doberman that was diagnosed with a tumor. She lays on the floor, without much vitality, breathing quietly. Her human, Barb, wonders if she is in pain from this tumor, and upon connecting with Frannie, I feel her at peace but with extremely low vitality. Perhaps she has some discomfort from the large size and awkward location of the tumor, but no pain. She is ready and willing to transition into death. The vet agrees with my perceptions that Frannie is not in pain.
