Magnesium Citramate™
Thorne Research
Uses:
|
Magnesium is required for a variety of the body's metabolic pathways. However, as it is not readily absorbed, it may or may not be found in sufficient amounts in the diet to achieve optimal levels in the body. Magnesium in the citrate form is probably the most readily-absorbed version.
Magnesium is required in glycosyl transferase, a process required for cartilage formation. It is common to add magnesium to arthritis formulations to improve cartilage tissue.
Magnesium in the urine decreases the formation of calcium oxalate crystals. Dogs and cats that have developed calcium oxalate stones in the past are likely to form them again. These animals should be on special diets (see Calcium Oxalate Stone Diet) and a magnesium supplement is probably a good idea.
