Arabinex is a highly branched polysaccharide (sugar). It is harvested from the Western Larch (Larix occidentalis).

It can be used in all cases where one would like to boost the immune system.

The Western larch is an evergreen tree native to the mountains of western North America. Mucopolysaccharides have been shown to boost the immune system. Because of its pleasant taste and ability to be dissolved in water, Arabinex is easy to give to dogs, cats, birds and ferrets.

Besides its ability to boost the immune system, it acts as a prebiotic, enhancing colon health by encouraging the growth of beneficial bacteria.

It is also a source of butyric acid; butyric acid is the primary fuel for intestinal colon cells. Thus, Arabinex strongly enhances intestinal immunity.

In the doses used, it is safe to give to diabetics and prediabetics.

Arabinex is a purified form of larch arabinogalactans. It is an immune booster, prebiotic (enhances beneficial bacteria), and enhances the health of the cells of the colon.

It can be used in all cases where one would like to boost the immune system.

Larch arabinogalactan has several interesting properties which appear to make it an ideal adjunctive supplement to consider in cancer protocols. Experimental studies have indicated larch arabinogalactan can stimulate natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity, enhance other functional aspects of the immune system, and inhibit the metastasis of tumor cells to the liver. The immune-enhancing properties also suggest an array of clinical uses, both in preventative medicine, due to its ability to build a more responsive immune system, and in clinical medicine, as a therapeutic agent in conditions associated with lowered immune function, decreased NK activity, or chronic viral infection.

Arabinex is soluble in water, has no adverse taste, and can be easily fed mixed in with food or even added to water bowls.

Arabinex comes from the Western Larch Tree. Larch arabinogalactan is composed of greater than 98% arabinogalactan, a highly branched polysaccharide consisting of a galactan backbone with side-chains of galactose and arabinose sugars. Larch arabinogalactan is an excellent source of dietary fiber, and has been approved as such by the FDA. It has been shown to increase the production of short-chain fatty acids, principally butyrate and proprionate, and has been shown to decrease the generation and absorption of ammonia within the intestinal tract (ammonia is a toxic product). Evidence also indicates consumption of larch arabinogalactan has a significant effect on enhancing beneficial gut microflora, specifically increasing anaerobes such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus.

Larch arabinogalactan from Larix occidentalis was shown to increase circulating peripheral blood monocytes. (40) Tumor cells pretreated with larch arabinogalactan enhanced NK cell cytotoxicity and phagocytic capacities of macrophages and lymphocytes, and increased release of various cytokines, such as IFN-[gamma], TNF-[alpha], IL-1[beta], and IL-6. (40-45) Larch arabinogalactans are a class of long, densely branched high-molecular weight polysaccharides (10,000-120,000 daltons). (46) High-grade arabinogalactan extracted form Larix occidentalis is composed of 90-98 percent arabinogalactan, and experimental analysis has determined larch arabinogalactan to be a highly branched molecule of 3,6-beta-D-galactan. (46,47) There are numerous patents identified in product development using larch arabinogalactan. According to the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) Notice No. GRN 000047 (FDA, Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition, Office of Premarket Approval), functional properties of larch arabinogalactan permit its use as a film-former, foam adhesive, additive, thickener, bulking agent, emulsifier, and as a therapeutic agent. Based on food grade status and numerous studies supporting the safety of larch arabinogalactan, it is considered to be extremely safe with minimum to no toxicity.

It can be used in all cases where one would like to boost the immune system.
