Indications:
Optimal nutrition starts by feeding dogs wholesome, freshly prepared diets (see our feeding your dog article). Multi-nutritional supplements, such as this product will not make up for a poor diet. However, even the best diets might be lacking in one or more nutrients. This supplement is designed to round out the diet to achieve optimal levels of important nutrients, to try to assure that all needed vitamins and minerals are present in the diet.
The goal of this supplement is to provide all vitamins and minerals in levels acceptable to feed to any dog that does not have certain specific diseases. It is designed to have moderate amounts of vitamins and minerals, not large amounts of them. A supplement that has large amounts of fat soluble vitamins, for example, could produce toxicities in some dogs already being fed foods or other supplements that have the same fat soluble vitamins.
Canine Plus is has some whole foods within the formula, for example, carrot powder, that can add valuable micronutrients.
This product contains sources of Pepsin, Bromelain and Protease (hydrolyzes proteins) and Lipase (hydrolyzes triglycerides), which may aid in digestion.
The
formula is intended for use in all phases of life, from puppies to the
geriatric patient.
It is formulated to be effective when used alone, or
when combined with other formulas, depending on the dogs needs. For
example, this formula can be combined with the Small Animal Antioxidant
formula for the young, rapidly growing dog, which should help optimize
bone and joint formation. This combination of formulas might effectively
help a patient with allergies or autoimmune diseases. It can be combined
with the Liver or Kidney Support formulas for dogs with compromised liver
or kidney function. It can be used together with the our EPA/DHA formulas
for support of the immune system.
